4 Reasons to Move to the Shuswap

It’s summer in the Shuswap and it has me wanting to share my favourite reasons why you should relocate to this beautiful area. Over my many years living here, I’ve seen this vivacious small-town thrive and grow for the best. This one-of-a-kind community could be the place you’ll soon call home, so get started in seeing these 4 reasons that I love calling the Salmon Arm area my home!

Vibrant Downtown Core

The last few years especially; the downtown core of Salmon Arm has seen established businesses flourish while they welcome fresh new artisans and stores that add flair to the Salmon Arm culture. From independent retailers offering clothing, artisan goods and home decor to mouth-watering dining experiences, the downtown area of Salmon Arm has something to offer everyone.

Proximity to Water & The Amazing Outdoors

Look no further for the perfect 365-day location to call home! Easy driving distance to Silver Star and Revelstoke Mountain Resorts in the winter and plenty of hiking and biking trails, golf courses and the amazing Shuswap Lake in the summer, there’s no shortage of outdoor adventure.

A Booming Employment Sector

Salmon Arm has the highest per capita number of high tech jobs in the interior of BC, with strong health care, education and manufacturing sectors as well. The area also offers exciting roles in hospitality, real estate, retail and more. In addition to the downtown core, and located just a short drive from downtown, the Salmon Arm Industrial Park has many trades-based businesses, fabrication shops and woodworking companies that may interest your employment needs too.

Premium Location

One of my favourite things about Salmon Arm is that it provides the amenities of city living, while offering a small-town community feel. We’re within a short drive to many major city centres, such as Revelstoke, Kamloops, Vernon and Kelowna. Salmon Arm also offers 2 major airports within a short driving distance, one in Kamloops and an international airport in Kelowna. And to boot, Salmon Arm’s quaint neighbourhoods have some of the best schools around, inclusive of French Immersion programs.
